Save The Three Cups Hotel
Saving the heritage of Lyme Regis!

Following a briefing from Palmers on the 26th January, we are currently critically reviewing the contents of the hotel consultants report.
The 102 page document, whilst comprehensive, contains many assumptions and projections which need further study.
What it does reveal however, is that there is a market need for an additional 4-star "boutique" hotel in Lyme Regis which would be financially self-sustaining.
What seems to be the sticking point, is the cost of refurbishing and redeveloping the building which has had no significant investment made in it for over 40 years and has been closed and neglected for 20 years.
Estimated at a total cost of £3-4M, the owners do not feel that the hotel options are economically viable.
We have been offered the opportunity to consult with the owners and will report on further progress in due course.

We are currently waiting for the results of Palmers 'feasability study'. This months copy of 'The Lady' (www.lady.co.uk) features a piece, in their Heritage section, all about our fight to re-open the Three Cups as an hotel. There's a great photo of Leon and much about the literary heritage of the building.
